SAN FRANCISCO — SoundHealth has released a medical-grade Android app for use with its FDA-approved SONU Band, enabling drug-free treatment of rhinitis and nasal congestion through AI-guided sound therapy. The app is the first of its kind to convert a selfie into CT-accurate 3D skeletal data to guide therapeutic delivery.

Designed to work in tandem with the SONU Band — a wearable device that uses sound-based therapy to reduce nasal symptoms — the app uses artificial intelligence to analyze facial structure and sinus data. Once a patient performs an initial one-time scan with their smartphone, the band delivers customized acoustic frequencies to the head and sinus area.

“Our Android app is a first of its kind, and this launch expands access to drug-free relief to millions of people suffering from allergies and sinus issues,” said Paramesh Gopi, M.D., founder and CEO of SoundHealth.

The SONU Band was previously available only to iOS users. It is FDA De Novo authorized and positioned as an alternative to steroid sprays, offering a non-invasive approach to treating moderate to severe nasal congestion and allergy-related symptoms.

The therapy provides relief in about 15 minutes by using acoustic vibrations to reduce inflammation, open nasal passages, and support natural drainage of mucus. The company says the SONU Band has been recommended by over 1,000 doctors and dentists nationwide.

SONU is currently the only FDA-approved wearable device to offer performance equivalent to or better than leading nasal steroid sprays. According to SoundHealth, more than 80% of patients have reported improved nasal symptoms following use.

The device recently received expanded FDA approval for pediatric use in children over the age of 12, providing an additional non-pharmaceutical option for families managing allergic rhinitis and sinus congestion.
