BOSTON– Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts announced that Sophie Clarke has joined the organization as chief strategy officer and senior vice president.
In her new role, Clarke will work closely with the leadership team to shape and implement corporate strategy. She will also oversee Zaffre Investments, a Blue Cross subsidiary that funds companies focused on expanding health care access and affordability.
Clarke brings extensive experience across medicine, strategy and health system transformation. She was most recently the founding president of Carelon care navigation at Elevance Health, where she led modernization efforts in care and disease management for 30 million members. She previously held senior positions at Elevance, including head of clinical domain strategies and partnerships, staff vice president of enterprise strategy, and senior director and chief of staff to the chief strategy officer. Earlier in her career, she worked at McKinsey & Company.
