PHOENIX– AleraCare, a leading national provider of infusion and specialty pharmacy services, announced that its Board of Directors has unanimously appointed Joseph Cosgrove as Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board. Cosgrove succeeds co-founder Russ Corvese, who will retire as CEO effective October 13, 2025, and will serve as an advisor during the leadership transition.
The appointment comes as AleraCare moves toward its planned merger with PURE Healthcare, which will form a premier, integrated national platform for patient-centered infusion and specialty care services. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025, pending customary closing conditions.
“Leading AleraCare has been one of the greatest privileges of my career,” said Corvese. “I am proud of what we have accomplished together in supporting patients and their families. As I step back, I am confident that Joe’s experience, leadership, and vision — particularly as the company moves toward its merger with PURE Healthcare — will guide AleraCare into an exciting new chapter of growth.”
Stephen Hallenbeck, Partner at Hildred Capital and member of AleraCare’s Board of Directors, said, “We thank Russ for his visionary leadership and tireless commitment to the patients we serve. We are equally pleased to welcome Joe as Chief Executive Officer and to our Board. His extensive leadership experience, combined with the upcoming merger, will help position AleraCare for its next phase of growth and success.”
Cosgrove brings more than 25 years of executive experience in healthcare services, life sciences, and private equity–backed growth companies. He previously served as Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Pentec Health and Leiters Health, where he led both organizations through rapid expansion, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships with major health systems and payers.
“I am honored to succeed Russ and to build on the strong foundation that he and the team have created,” said Cosgrove. “AleraCare’s mission to deliver outstanding care and support to patients and their families is one that I am deeply committed to. The pending merger with PURE Healthcare represents a tremendous opportunity to expand our reach and impact, and I look forward to working with our talented team and the Board to realize that vision.”
Cosgrove’s appointment marks a new phase for AleraCare as it continues to expand its national footprint, strengthen its clinical programs, and advance its commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality, patient-centered care.
