WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — eClinicalWorks, the largest ambulatory cloud EHR and the first AI-driven electronic health record platform, announced results from a new survey highlighting the growing adoption and measurable impact of AI solutions across healthcare practices of all sizes. Nearly 900 healthcare professionals participated in the study, including executives, clinicians, billing specialists, and support staff from a wide range of organizations.

The findings show that nearly half of respondents are already using one or more AI tools to enhance operational efficiency, streamline workflows, and improve patient care. The survey underscores how AI is rapidly becoming a practical and transformative force across healthcare, empowering clinicians and improving accessibility.

“Our mission is to democratize AI and make innovation accessible to every healthcare practice,” said Girish Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks. “AI is transforming healthcare—from solo providers to large health centers—empowering clinicians, improving efficiency, and driving smarter care decisions. We’re building affordable, interoperable AI solutions designed for every specialty and every practice, regardless of which EHR they use.”

The survey revealed several key trends shaping the next phase of AI integration in healthcare. Fifty percent of practices reported using at least one AI solution to enhance operations and patient care. Among these, 64 percent said they save over an hour each day through eClinicalWorks Image AI, which automates fax inbox management. Additionally, 72 percent of practices plan to adopt healow Genie to automate patient communication and reduce administrative workloads.

AI-driven tools are also reshaping clinical documentation. Seventy-two percent of AI users reported using Sunoh.ai to streamline note-taking, with 66 percent saying the technology saves between one and four hours per day. Meanwhile, over 57 percent of AI users leverage the AI Assistant for PRISMA to consolidate patient records from multiple sources, cutting down the average two hours spent daily by non-AI users. More than half of respondents (53 percent) indicated plans to adopt RCM AI to improve revenue cycle management and financial accuracy.

Looking ahead, 76 percent of survey participants agreed that smart-glasses and ambient computing technologies will play a major role in improving care delivery and patient outcomes in the coming years.

The survey was conducted during the 2025 eClinicalWorks and healow National Conference, with 887 participants representing a diverse mix of healthcare professionals. A follow-up poll further explored the role of emerging tools such as smart-glasses in shaping the future of clinical efficiency.
