SAN FRANCISCO — Suffolk has appointed construction management executive Roger Moore as a Vice President and Project Executive in its San Francisco office, reinforcing the national contractor’s growing presence on the West Coast and its commitment to serving healthcare clients across California. The company said the hire comes at a time of heightened demand for modernizing healthcare infrastructure and expanding life sciences facilities throughout the state.
Moore will lead business development initiatives in Northern California’s healthcare sector and draw on extensive hands-on experience managing major medical and life sciences projects. Suffolk said he will oversee field operations, guide project teams and support strategic growth aimed at delivering high-performance facilities for healthcare systems across the region.
“Roger’s significant experience managing complex, top-tier healthcare and life sciences projects and his innovation mindset make him a valuable addition to Suffolk,” said Preston Hoopes, General Manager of Northern California at Suffolk. “The addition of Roger to our expanding team will help to accelerate Suffolk’s West Coast momentum in this rapidly evolving, fast-growing sector.”
Suffolk positions itself as an innovation-focused national builder, leveraging data, AI risk modeling, predictive analytics, robotics and digital dashboards to improve decision-making and transparency on its projects. The company said these tools help teams drive efficiency and provide greater certainty through all phases of construction.
Moore’s background includes leadership roles at several major West Coast construction firms, including Pankow Builders, BCCI Construction and XL Construction. In those positions, he managed large hospital and medical facility projects and helped scale healthcare portfolios statewide. Suffolk said his experience with leading California medical systems aligns with its focus on becoming the builder of choice for complex healthcare facilities.
Beyond San Francisco, Suffolk continues to expand its footprint in California with offices in Los Angeles, Newport Beach and San Diego. Recent projects in the state include the Gilead Cancer Research Center in Foster City; 78 Haight and 1629 Market Street in San Francisco; One Beverly Hills, Sixth Street Place and the LACCD Pierce College Child Development Academic Facility in Los Angeles; the Chicken Ranch Casino Resort in Jamestown; and Union Tower, Park Summit and the Jacobs Performing Arts Center in San Diego.
The company’s national healthcare portfolio includes major work at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital in Massachusetts, as well as expansions at South Shore University Hospital and White Plains Hospital, the transformation of Hatch Life Sciences in the New York metro area, and construction of the Tampa General Hospital Urgent Care Center at Babcock Ranch.
