BOSTON — LaVoie Strategic Communications Group Inc., doing business as LaVoieHealthScience, said Tuesday that it has promoted Lisa DeScenza to President, formalizing a leadership structure that the firm said positions the agency for continued growth and broader impact across the health, science, and government sectors.

DeScenza previously served as Senior Vice President, where she supported a range of health-related clients while also contributing to business development and marketing efforts for the agency. The company said her promotion reflects more than a decade of leadership and operational responsibility within the firm, as well as a collaborative operating model that has evolved over time.

For more than 13 years, DeScenza has played a central role in shaping client relationships, guiding program implementation, and building the agency’s culture and day-to-day operations. LaVoieHealthScience said the move underscores continuity and confidence in internal leadership as the firm pursues its strategic plans for expansion.

“Lisa has been an integral part of LaVoieHealthScience’s leadership for many years, and her appointment as President reflects the strength of the partnership we’ve built together,” said Donna L. LaVoie, Chief Executive Officer of LaVoieHealthScience. “I am excited to move our firm forward and formalize this partnership, giving us additional leadership capacity as we continue to grow the agency and serve complex clients across health, science, and government.”

In her new role, DeScenza will oversee the agency’s Boston office and take on agency-wide responsibilities focused on operational excellence, client service, and resource alignment. She will work closely with LaVoie and the broader team to ensure clients are supported with the appropriate expertise as the firm manages growth and increasing client demands.

LaVoie will continue to serve as founder and CEO, maintaining responsibility for overall agency strategy and growth while partnering closely with DeScenza on client service, execution, and operations.

“This role reflects the trust and shared commitment that Donna and I have built over time,” said DeScenza. “Our clients value continuity, consistency, and deep understanding of their businesses. This structure allows us to strengthen all three while positioning the agency for its next stage of growth.”

The agency said the leadership structure reinforces its approach to shared leadership rooted in experience and collaboration, while supporting its mission to deliver strategic communications and counsel to organizations operating in complex scientific, regulatory, and public policy environments.
