CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The MIT Sloan CIO Symposium said it is now accepting applications from early-stage technology startups seeking to participate in its annual Innovation Showcase, which will be held in conjunction with the symposium on May 19, 2026.
The Innovation Showcase is designed to give emerging enterprise technology companies direct access to senior IT decision makers. Ten startups will be selected to present solutions that demonstrate a strong combination of innovation and enterprise value to an audience that includes global CIOs, investors, and industry influencers.
“For technology startups that are solving real enterprise challenges and are ready to take the next step, the Innovation Showcase is a rare opportunity to connect with global CIOs, investors, influencers, and decision makers,” said Innovation Showcase Chair Anton Teodorescu. “Along with receiving meaningful feedback and visibility, the Innovation Showcase has proven to be a catalyst for putting the next generation of enterprise startups on the radar.”
An invitation-only VIP pre-event will take place on May 18, 2026, the day before the symposium. The gathering will host approximately 150 attendees and feature the selected Innovation Showcase companies, an inspirational keynote-style talk, roundtable discussions, a networking reception, and the CIO Leadership Award Dinner.
Past Innovation Showcase participants have gone on to significant outcomes in the enterprise technology sector, including acquisitions and public offerings. Previous winners include Gazzang, which was acquired by Cloudera; HashiCorp, which completed a $1.2 billion IPO and was later acquired by IBM; Okta, which went public and now has a market capitalization of approximately $16 billion; Rypple, acquired by Salesforce.com; Sqrrl, acquired by Amazon; Yammer, acquired by Microsoft for $1.2 billion; and Zerto, acquired by HPE.
To qualify, applicants must offer an enterprise or departmental IT solution with products already available in the market, generate less than $10 million in annual revenue, and demonstrate innovation or strategic value with the potential to impact enterprise performance.
The 10 companies selected for the Innovation Showcase will be chosen by an organizing team composed of early-stage investors, entrepreneurs, and members of the MIT faculty and student community.
Applications must be submitted by March 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time.
