MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — SCIEX said it has integrated its Echo MS+ system with the ZenoTOF 8600 mass spectrometer, creating what the company describes as the highest-throughput accurate mass platform available for analytical laboratories.

The integration brings together the Echo MS+ system, a high-throughput analytical solution, with the ZenoTOF 8600 system, an accurate mass spectrometer known for enhanced sensitivity. SCIEX said the combined platform is designed for laboratories operating at large analytical scale and requiring direct physical measurement across a broad range of compounds.

According to the company, the integrated system enables assays that are difficult or impractical using conventional mass spectrometry approaches. The platform provides direct, label-free measurement through mass spectrometry, uses contactless acoustic ejection to minimize the risk of carryover, and can operate with sample volumes as low as 2.5 nanoliters. SCIEX said the system supports sampling rates of up to one sample per second and can be coupled with front-end automation to further improve efficiency.

“The enhanced sensitivity allows researchers to work with significantly smaller protein quantities and delivers substantial cost efficiencies throughout the drug-development process,” said Susan Darling, senior director of adjacent and transformational technologies at SCIEX.

SCIEX said the new integration expands the Echo MS+ system’s existing compatibility with other mass spectrometry platforms in its portfolio, giving laboratories additional flexibility when designing high-throughput screening workflows.
