DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Emirates Health Services said it has partnered with Boston Health AI to launch “Amal,” the UAE’s first AI-powered physician assistant, marking a milestone in the adoption of artificial intelligence within the country’s public healthcare system.

The initiative was unveiled at the World Health Exhibition Dubai 2026 and represents the first deployment of a multi-agent, AI-driven clinical intelligence platform across a UAE public health network. Emirates Health Services said the rollout reinforces its focus on healthcare innovation and digital transformation across the UAE and the broader Gulf region.

According to the organizations, Amal is designed as an AI avatar that conducts detailed, conversational medical interviews with patients before they see a clinician. Using physician-grade clinical reasoning, the system captures patient histories and symptoms and converts them into structured, clinically relevant summaries for care teams.

During the exhibition, the Boston Health AI booth within the Emirates Health Services pavilion drew healthcare leaders and delegations from more than 40 countries and over 200 institutions, reflecting strong international interest in the technology and its potential clinical applications.

Emirates Health Services said the platform is intended to deliver benefits across the healthcare ecosystem. For patients, Amal provides a multilingual, conversational intake experience that aims to reduce wait times while improving the accuracy and completeness of medical histories. For clinicians, the system delivers actionable patient summaries ahead of appointments, reducing documentation burden and allowing greater focus on clinical decision-making and patient interaction.

From a system perspective, standardized documentation, improved operational efficiency, and data-driven insights are expected to support scalable and sustainable healthcare delivery across the UAE, the organization said.

The platform operates on infrastructure hosted within the UAE and is designed to ensure full data sovereignty, with end-to-end encryption and compliance with national healthcare data protection regulations. All patient information remains stored securely within the country.

Boston Health AI said its clinical intelligence platform was developed through close collaboration between physicians and engineers and refined through continuous feedback from practicing clinicians. Built around real-world clinical workflows, the platform has already supported more than 30,000 patients globally.
