NASHVILLE, Tenn. — U.S. Urology Partners has appointed Russ Adkins as its new chief legal officer, adding a seasoned healthcare legal executive to its leadership team as the company continues to expand its national footprint.
Adkins will oversee legal, regulatory, compliance, governance, and strategic transaction matters for the Nashville-based organization, which partners with independent, community-based urology practices and is backed by global investor General Atlantic.
“We are excited to welcome Russ Adkins to the U.S. Urology Partners team,” said Corina Tracy, chief executive officer of U.S. Urology Partners. “His extensive legal and healthcare experience will be of great value as we continue to expand our best-in-class integrated healthcare platform within new and existing markets. Russ will help us fulfill our core purpose of uniting high-performing, growth-oriented urology practices to deliver efficient, effective, and innovative urologic care in the communities we serve.”
Adkins brings more than 20 years of experience in legal, compliance, and healthcare operations, with expertise spanning mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, health law, litigation, and corporate governance.
“U.S. Urology Partners presents such a compelling opportunity for its associates and patients—allowing for expanded access to high quality, compassionate urology services from independent, community-based practices,” Adkins said. “I am thrilled and honored to join a company and management team of this caliber. I am humbled by the growth and scale the organization has already achieved and look forward to being part of its continued transformation.”
Before joining U.S. Urology Partners, Adkins spent nearly 13 years as chief legal officer at Compassus, a Nashville-based provider of post-acute care services. During his tenure, he helped guide the company through significant growth, including three private equity sponsorships, two recapitalizations, and dozens of platform acquisitions and joint ventures. He also served as Compassus’ chief compliance officer for much of that period.
Earlier in his career, Adkins was vice president of legal at M*Modal Inc., formerly known as MedQuist and Spheris, a global provider of clinical documentation technology and services. He previously practiced law at private firms in Boulder, Colorado, and Nashville. Adkins earned his law degree from the University of Louisville School of Law and holds a master’s degree in law from New York University School of Law.
U.S. Urology Partners supports urology practices of all sizes in maintaining independence while delivering care in community-based settings.
