CAMBRIDGE, England — BioMed Realty and Babraham Research Campus Ltd have completed the lease-up of the newest laboratory building at Babraham Research Campus following the signing of new leases with TRIMTECH Therapeutics and Tagomics Ltd, bringing the facility to full occupancy.

The fully leased building marks another milestone in the joint venture between BioMed Realty and Babraham Research Campus Ltd, which develops and manages the campus on behalf of its shareholders, BBSRC–UKRI and the Babraham Institute. The new leases reinforce the building’s role as a hub for early-stage and scaling life sciences companies seeking immediate access to fully fitted laboratory infrastructure within one of Europe’s most established research ecosystems.

TRIMTECH Therapeutics, a UK-based biotechnology company developing small molecule therapies that target and degrade protein aggregates linked to neurodegenerative diseases, has leased laboratory and office space that will allow it to consolidate research and management activities at a single site. The new space will support the company’s work on treatments for large-population indications such as Alzheimer’s disease and Huntington’s disease.

Tagomics Ltd, a biomarker discovery and diagnostics company, has also taken space in the building to support continued development of its multiomic platform. The platform underpins the company’s work in early disease detection and precision diagnostics, including programs supported by Innovate UK’s Biomedical Catalyst funding to advance new diagnostic approaches for colorectal cancer in collaboration with NHS partners.

“Completing the lease-up of this building reflects both the high quality and performance capabilities of the asset and the success of our long-standing joint venture with Babraham Research Campus Ltd,” said Orestis Tzortzoglou, vice president and head of the UK market at BioMed Realty. “Our shared focus is on delivering turnkey, mission-critical laboratory environments that allow innovative companies to move quickly from discovery to data while remaining embedded in a collaborative research community.”

Designed to support companies transitioning from incubation through early scale-up, the building offers flexible, multi-tenant laboratory and office suites supported by robust building systems and on-site operational services. The model is intended to reduce barriers for emerging life sciences companies while providing a clear pathway for growth within the campus.

Babraham Research Campus is known for its co-location of commercial bioscience companies alongside discovery research at the Babraham Institute. The campus is home to more than 2,000 employees across start-ups, scale-ups, and established organizations, alongside approximately 300 academic researchers, creating an environment focused on scientific translation and collaboration.

“Our dynamic and highly connected campus ecosystem is designed to support bioscience ventures at every stage of their journey,” said Louise Jopling, chief scientific and innovation officer of Babraham Research Campus. “The full occupancy of this building shows how the combination of flexible facilities, collaborative culture, and long-term partnerships creates an environment where innovative companies can start, scale, and stay.”

Located within the UK’s Golden Triangle, Babraham Research Campus combines laboratory infrastructure with landscaped open space, walkable amenities, and strong transport links. Ongoing development is aimed at ensuring companies have access to the facilities, shared resources, and scientific community they need as they grow.

The completed lease-up highlights the continued commitment of BioMed Realty and Babraham Research Campus Ltd to supporting the UK life sciences sector through flexible, immediately operational laboratory environments within a world-class research setting.
