CLEVELAND– Medical device and technology company Lazurite Holdings LLC announced that it will exhibit its new modular ArthroFree™ wireless arthroscopic camera system at two upcoming events: the annual meeting of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) in San Diego, Aug. 31-Sept. 3, 2021 (Booth 5312); and the annual meeting of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) in Las Vegas, also Aug. 31-Sept. 3, 2021 (Booth 241). At SAGES, Lazurite will be one of three finalists competing for a $30,000 first prize in the SAGES Shark Tank 2021. Attendees also will be eligible to vote.

Pre-production demo models of the ArthroFree wireless system will be available for surgeons and physicians to try out for themselves at both meetings. Lazurite’s leadership and development teams will be onsite to discuss the new system and address questions. AAOS is expected to attract thousands of attendees; SAGES expects approximately 1,500 attendees.

“We are excited to introduce our ArthroFree wireless camera system at both the upcoming AAOS and SAGES meetings,” said Eugene Malinskiy, Chief Executive Officer and founder of Lazurite. “AAOS is the largest convention of orthopedic surgeons in North America, so it is an ideal venue to exhibit our device. We believe orthopedic surgeons, along with the facilities where they practice, will find the system to be innovative and offer multiple avenues to add value to their practices and facilities.

“We are looking forward to exhibiting at SAGES and competing in the finals of its Shark Tank competition. While orthopedics is our initial target market, the ArthroFree system is designed for compatibility with various flexible and rigid endoscopes, as well as surgical tower systems that are applicable to gastroenterology, laparoscopy, and the wider endoscopic market. The modular system is designed to be fully drop-in compatible with current operating room technology across specialty areas.’’

The ArthroFree system is expected to be the world’s first FDA-approved fully wireless, minimally invasive camera system for the operating room. It incorporates Lazurite’s proprietary low heat, high intensity Meridiem™ light engine technology with advanced camera, battery, and wireless transmission technologies. The system is designed to deliver improved OR productivity, patient safety, and economic value through cost-savings, energy efficiency, and reduced setup/breakdown times.

Mark Froimson, MD, Chair of the Board of Managers of Lazurite, said, “We are looking forward to introducing ArthroFree to the orthopedic and gastrointestinal surgeons attending these two important conferences. It’s always exciting to see the reaction when surgeons first experience this game-changing, innovative technology. They routinely tell us that ArthroFree’s wireless, user-friendly design is long overdue, and that they look forward to utilizing it in their ORs.”
