SACRAMENTO, Calif.– Work Health Solutions, providers of concierge-style occupational medicine for large-scale employers nationwide, announces the appointment of Peter Lee, MD as Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Lee has accumulated nearly two decades of experience in the medical field, supervising workforce health for prominent corporations that provide care for hundreds of thousands of employees globally. Most recently, Dr. Lee served as Global Medical Director for Amazon where he led clinical operations and industrial hygiene, directed occupational health and wellness, developed worldwide responsive health policies, and drove advancements in health technology, global health security and benefits design.

“At Amazon, we enlisted Work Health Solutions as a strategic partner, and they exceeded every expectation with their unique approach and exceptional customer service. It was evident from the start that their methodologies were different from other companies,” said Dr. Lee. “I had the opportunity to see from the client perspective how Work Health Solutions operated and was impressed with the way programs were customized by analyzing what companies truly need to care for employees. Work Health Solutions differentiates itself as being customer obsessed and via this appointment, I am excited to transform the way occupational health and corporate medicine is administered throughout the country and around the world.”

“When I started the company, I knew there would come a day when we would need to expand the C-suite. This is why I kept my title of Founder/President, I wanted to make sure we found just the right fit before creating the CEO role. We have been experiencing tremendous growth over the past few years, I knew who I wanted in this position,” said Dr. Letitia Heshmat, Founder and President of Work Health Solutions. “From the first day I met Dr. Lee I knew that we were destined to work together and that he would make a great addition to the company; and today, that intuition has come to fruition. Dr. Lee brings with him a wealth of expertise as a seasoned leader in global health and wellness, and he is ready and eager to build upon the work we’ve accomplished.”

This new role will allow Dr. Heshmat to concentrate on more of the tasks that excited her when she started the company, including thought mentorship, creating customized programs, and working directly with clients, while the day-to-day operations will be overseen by the teams Dr. Lee will manage. The division of responsibilities plays to both strengths and will allow for more bandwidth, which is desperately needed at the fast-growing company.

Prior to Amazon, Dr. Lee practiced in a clinical setting, functioned as Medical Director for Boston Medical Center and served as Chief Medical Officer for the General Electric company. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of Vermont College of Medicine, and the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Lee is board certified in Preventive Medicine, appointed a fellow of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) and serves as Assistant Clinical Professor at the Yale University School of Medicine.
